Icelandic filmmaker and photographer Jon Gustafsson exhibits his aerial landscape photographs in MOKKA, a down-town Reykjavik gallery this summer. The show dates are July 1 to August 16, 2017. All the photographs in the exhibit are taken from helicopters over Iceland. They feature abstract patterns in the Icelandic landscape, rivers, lakes and glaciers. Jon Gustafsson was thrust into the world of aerial photography when he started working with Icelandic helicopter companies. Limited edition prints are available for purchase through Artio Productions. Only 5 large copies are produced. Each is numbered and comes with a certificate of authenticity.

The book contains 80 pages of amazing Iceland aerial photographs, taken from helicopters over a period of 7 years by Jon Gustafsson. He was traveling in a helicopter when the volcano Eyjafjallajökull erupted in 2010. On that flight he captured the first images of the infamous eruption that affected the world. His images were published worldwide and his passion for aerial photography was born.

In this book Jon Gustafsson shows us Icelandic landscape from angles that few have experienced. He finds abstract art in rivers, mountains and glaciers. His work is seductive, playful and intriguing. Iceland is surreal, it is dynamic and ultimately, as Jon shows us: It is a living work of art.
