I met Les Blank once at a bar in Toronto during HotDocs. I asked him if during the filming of Burden of Dreams he ever wanted to pack it in and go home. He said “Yes, on day one. When a native tribe suddenly attacked us and I thought I was going to get killed”. Les Blank and Burden of Dreams continue to be an inspiration
